Student Appointments
The Center for Career Development and Community Engagement is founded on three core pillars:
- Educate: Dive into the job market’s realities and the skills for success. Gain insights for your career journey.
- Empower: Take control of your career path with our support. Access tools, resources, and discussions to navigate your
professional identity. - Advocate: Stand with us for equitable employment. We partner with values-aligned employers to champion diversity, inclusivity, and fairness for all.
These principles guide our comprehensive services and initiatives designed to support every aspect of the career journey. Our aim is to lay a solid foundation for career readiness, helping individuals navigate the job and internship search process with ease.
We offer virtual and in-person appointments based on availability. All appointments are made using Handshake.
Alumni without Handshake accounts may email us at CCDCE@marymount.edu to schedule an appointment.
Our Student/Alumni Appointment Framework
At the Center for Career Development & Community Engagement, our appointment framework begins with a mandatory intake appointment designed to identify how we can best help students and alumni achieve their goals. During this initial meeting, our staff will assess each student’s unique needs and provide a tailored pathway recommendation, determining the appropriate level of support needed.
We offer five pathway options:
- Career Coaching: One-on-one career guidance and planning.
- Internship Support: Assistance with the internship-for-credit process.
- Interview Preparation: Mock interviews to enhance interview skills.
- Individualized Resume and Cover Letter Assistance: Personalized help with crafting professional resumes and cover letters.
- Individualized LinkedIn Assistance: Customized support for optimizing LinkedIn profiles.
**Please note that for pathways 4 and 5, students are required to attend one of our resume workshops or LinkedIn workshops, either in-person or via Canvas, before being able to be seen for individual support. This approach ensures that students receive comprehensive and effective support tailored to their career development needs.
