Program Requirements & Plan of Study

The Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program prepares nurse practitioners to provide primary care to the family. Laboratory and 700 hours of required clinical practicum offer students the opportunity to develop competence in the diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses. The program prepares graduates for nationally recognized certification exams offered by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Committee (ANCC).

Curriculum

Marymount’s Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner curriculum is framed within The Essentials of Master’s Education for Advanced Practice, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), and Criteria for Evaluation of Nurse Practitioner Programs.
