Majors and Minors in Art

Marymount’s Art Department offers degree programs and minors that are designed to prepare your for a career in the arts, and develop a unique set of skills that make you an attractive candidate in other career paths.

All degree programs in the Department of Fine Arts build upon the central Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Art. This degree allows for a number of university electives that can be used to add a minor or double-major in preparation for a particular career path. The B.A. in Art also serves as the basis for our major in Art Education (Art with K-12 Teaching Licensure), and for our pre-professional tracks in Pre-Art Therapy or Arts Admnistration.

The Art department also offers four minors, which are open to students from all majors. These can be added onto the B.A. in Art, or they can expand the skills of majors from other fields.
