Report Visa or Immigration Change
Students may choose to change their immigration status during their time of study. If you changed your visa category or status type from F-1 to a different status, please submit an Immigration Update request through your ISSS portal.
Do not submit an Immigration Update request until you are ready to terminate your F-1 record.
If you are ready to terminate your SEVIS / I-20 record and F-1 status:
- Log into your ISSS portal and proceed to Tab 4
- Click on the Immigration Update Form request
- Carefully read the disclaimer
- Upload your proof of a status change
- Confirm you understand and attest to providing the correct information
- Click Submit
By submitting this request, you are asking Marymount University / ISSS to terminate (end) your SEVIS record. This means that you will no longer be in F-1 status.
NOTE: If your F-1 status is terminated and you have a pending change of status application for another immigration type that is later denied, your future ability to request a nonimmigrant visa or to change to a nonimmigrant status in the U.S. could be compromised.
