Update Personal Information

Per U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations, F-1 students must update their personal information within 10 days of the change. ​

  • Current students: submit updates to personal and contact information through Workday. Instructions for submitting changes are in the Updating Student Contact Information guide.
  • Current AND F-1 status students on OPT or OPT STEM Extension: submit your updates through your ISSS portal (scroll down to read types of updates that must be made through the ISSS portal).

Workday Updates

Log in to Workday through your MU portal. Review and update ALL of the personal information listed below. Instructions to update your personal information in Workday

Address, Phone, Email Change

Instructions for updating contact (address, phone number, and/or e-mail) information are available on page 2 of the Updating Student Contact Information guide.

Personal Information

Personal information includes gender, date of birth, marital status, race/ethnicity, and religion. Instructions for updating contact information are available on page 3 of the Updating Student Contact Information guide. Please note that documentation is required for changes to date of birth. Acceptable documentation includes government-issued ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport), or birth certificate.

Name Change

Instructions for submitting a name change are available on page 4 of the Updating Student Contact Information guide. Please note that documentation is required to submit this request. Acceptable documentation includes government-issued ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport), birth certificate, court order, or marriage certificate authorizing the name change.

Social Security Number or National Identification

Instructions for submitting an SSN or national ID are available on page 5 of the Updating Student Contact Information guide. Please note that a copy of the social security /national ID card must be attached.

ISSS Portal Updates

  • Updated passport

  • Updated visa

  • Updated I-94

  • Updated financial documents

  • Add/remove F-2 dependent
