Dissertation Enrollment
Eligibility
F-1 students who have completed all course requirements and are officially dissertation candidates taking dissertation preparation courses will be allowed to be enrolled part-time for the duration of those courses. F-1 students should be familiar with their degree plan and course description in order to make sure they are eligible for this dissertation part-time enrollment period. F-1 students are responsible for submitting an official notification to ISSS through the ISSS portal.
Steps to Submit Notification
Dissertation candidates must complete a doctoral notification of coursework completion each semester that they are working on the dissertation until they graduate (complete academic requirements to confer degree).
- Log into your ISSS portal and proceed to Tab 4
- Select the online form titled Doctoral Notification of Coursework Request
- Fill out the online form
- Add your Academic Advisor’s name and email address as the Approver. Your Academic Advisor must approve on this request that you are in your dissertation phase before ISSS will review the form.
- Click Submit
Allow up to 10 business days for ISSS to review your request. If we have questions or need more information, we will contact you via your Marymount student email address. Once approved, you will be notified by ISSS via email.
