According to the National Safety Council, research has shown since 2020, 113,500 people died from preventable injury-related home deaths. This number continues to increase every year. In this panel conversation, we will explore home safety educational tips and resources to help prevent injury and accidental deaths in the home.

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s has announced the launch of the Brain Health Academy. They are offering this year’s Academy, including six continuing education credits, free of charge to anyone interested in learning how to reduce the risk of dementia and the relationship between lifestyle habits on brain health. In collaboration with the American Society for Aging (ASA), the Brain Health Academy provides 6 CE credits (1 per course) for diverse professionals, including nurses. The Academy is free and geared toward health and wellness professionals, but all are welcome to attend.
Please join in a variety of fun activities such as fitness classes, special presentations, interactive games, and much more! Participate in our classes hosted virtually. You may join in as many activities as you would
like and share this information with friends!

We were happy to collaborate with the Arlington Neighborhood village on the National Senior Health & Fitness Day Arlington Style on May 25th, 2022. At the event, we met with different senior citizens of the Arlington Neighborhood, did vital sign checks, gave memory screening, grip strength, and so much more! We took this wonderful opportunity to provide Health Education to our elderly population about different health conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, and fall risk.
Community-Engaged Research to Advance Healthy Aging for Latino Populations
Dr. Erica Diminich is a 2019 National Institute on Aging (NIA) Butler Williams Scholar and NIA Alzheimer’s disease Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (AD-RCMAR) Research Scientist. She is going to present her research on how chronic stress intersects with emotional responses and social, cultural, and contextual factors to influence health throughout the life course among Latinos.
