Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Alliance

The Northern Virginia Fall Prevention Alliance maximizes independence and improves the quality of life by increasing access to programs that are proven to reduce the risk of a fall. This community partnership also works to spread awareness about fall prevention by giving presentations and holding fall risk screenings.

Matter of Balance (MOB) is an 8-week program that teaches practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and set goals to increase strength and balance. MOB is delivered once a week for 2 hours over 8 weeks (9 weeks if delivered virtually).

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)  is an ongoing exercise program focusing on cardiovascular fitness, strength, and balance. SAIL classes are held 2 to 3 times per week.

Otago is an ongoing individualized program that improves strength and balance through a walking and scripted exercise routine
