Campus Life at Marymount

Welcome from Susan Boyd, Associate Vice President of Student Living and Engagement

Marymount University welcomes and values all members of our community. Guided by the mission of our founders, the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), to achieve unity through diversity, Marymount honors our diversity as a source of strength. Our differences inspire intellectual curiosity and collectively allow us to tackle the challenges of the world. We seek to foster an inclusive community in which each person’s race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, age, ability, class, national origin, and immigration status are fully respected and celebrated. According to the vision of the RSHM that “ALL may have life, and have it to the FULL,” we strive to create an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation, and civility where all community members are S.A.I.N.T.S—Safe, Accepted, Included, Needed, Treasured, and Seen.

Ministry and Spiritual Life

Grounded in the Catholic tradition of our RSHM heritage, the Office of Ministry and Spiritual Life reaches out to support people of all faiths as members of a campus community that is rich in terms of religious diversity.   Our office strives to be a resource for the spiritual and religious development of all Marymount students, whether they belong to a particular faith tradition or not.  The Office of the Chaplain provides support to our students who identify as Roman Catholic in celebrating the sacraments and growing in knowledge of the faith, as well as providing support to all of our students, faculty, and staff.    Students looking for information about on-campus Masses, religious services near Marymount, Bible studies, campus faith-oriented clubs, the meditation room, or direction in how to live lives of deeper meaning, belonging, and purpose, are invited to contact our office. It is the hope of the Office of Ministry and Spiritual Life that all of our students will benefit from the richness of our community and may, embody the RHSM charism “all may have life, and have it to the full.” For more information about Ministry and Spiritual Life, please click here.

Marymount Athletics

Marymount Athletics is home to 19 NCAA Division III sports with over 350 athletes, competing in the Atlantic East Conference and the Continental Volleyball Conference (MVB). Our mission is to prepare our student-athletes to win with integrity – in academics, in athletics, and in life. Our programs motivate and empower student athletes to develop leadership, well-being, sportsmanship and interpersonal skills while nurturing a sense of civic responsibility and valuing diversity. We are devoted to educating the whole person through experiences within and beyond athletic undertakings in an inclusive, gender-equitable environment. Marymount Recreation

Marymount Recreation provides sound programming for the university’s diverse community in the areas of intramurals, club sports, fitness instruction and informal recreational opportunities. Intramural programming offers a variety of leagues, tournaments and activities to all students, faculty and staff to compete against each other. Club Sports welcome students with any level of experience. With a dedicated coaching staff, this is a great place for students to continue their interest in sports while still playing at a competitive level with a time commitment of only a few hours a week. The purpose of club sports is to offer undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to play against local and regional teams. For more information regarding Marymount Recreation, visit our website at www.MarymountRecreation.com.

This can include event and meeting participation, conversations with organization members, and tasks or volunteer opportunities that students have signed up for. Every member of campus has access to MUEngage with their MU email address.
