Bio

Rob McKay, a doctoral student in Cybersecurity, has joined the review board of the prestigious Computers & Security Journal, the most respected journal in the IT security field. Rob received his Masters from Marymount in 2015. His service on this review board is recognition of Marymount’s excellence in the field of cybersecurity and helps give Marymount additional national recognition as a research center.

We briefly caught up with Rob and asked for his perspective on his time at Marymount. Here’s what he had to say:

“My experience in the cybersecurity program at Marymount has been rich and rewarding. I have been with the program since its early days and have had the priviledge to watch it grow. Above all, the relationships I have made with professors and peers stand out to me the most; I can see remaining lifelong friends and colleagues. The program has been driven by a talented cast of professors from whom I am continuing to learn.

Most importantly, professors put in an immense effort and make their students feel like family.
One of my most memorable experiences during the program was the trip we took to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence in Tallinn, Estonia.  This was a week-long learning adventure that covered lectures in quantum cryptography and a tour of Microsoft’s Nokia House in Helsinki, Finland.”
