In 2010, Robert Zahn Jr. became a small percentage managing partner of a New York City restaurant and two years later, he co-founded the NIEUW Group Inc., and opened Manhattan Proper. Proper West opened in New York City in 2014 and two years after that, NIEUW opened its first Washington location, Proper 21.
Zahn is a graduate of East Carolina University and also has a degree in forensic psychology from Marymount University.
