Marymounts Center for Global Education hosted its annual Study Abroad Fair last week in an effort to promote the Universitys study abroad programs to new and returning students. Each year, partners from around the world come to Marymount to speak to students about the variety of programs, scholarships, classes and experiences they offer. In addition, students can learn about the different opportunities available to them to complete their mandatory internship requirement abroad.
About 150 students, many of them in their first year at Marymount, attended the Study Abroad Fair throughout the day on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and got to meet and interact with individuals leading academic programs that are based all around the world. Whether a student is interested in fashion design and South American culture, or business administration in Asia, there is something for everyone!
Students also had the chance to speak to Marymount faculty members who oversee the Global Classroom Series courses, as well as short-term undergraduate programs. Applications for these opened the week before fall semester classes began, and will close on Oct. 1.
This annual event is an amazing opportunity for students to discover and learn about the world of possibilities that are possible while studying at Marymount. Staff members in the Center for Global Education hope that through the Study Abroad Fair, students will take the first step towards studying abroad.
