MU Students, Faculty Celebrate Math at National Math Festival

Marymount University (MU) faculty and students teamed up with National Math Festival to volunteer at this premier event on May 4, 2019. Accompanied by MU Mathematics faculty, Dr. Alice Petillo and Dr. Jacquelyn Rische, more than twenty MU students volunteered with the Association for Women in Mathematics and Geometric Balloon Bending booths.

The National Math Festival in Washington, D.C. brought together some of the most fascinating mathematicians of our time to inspire and challenge participants to see math in new and exciting ways. The event was free and open to the public. All ages enjoyed a full day of hands-on activities, stage presentations, performances, art, films, “mathletic” events, puzzles, games, children’s book readings, and more.
