Global Student Teaching
Today’s teachers must be able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. Through the global student teaching program, students have the opportunity to learn firsthand how culture affects teaching and learning. The Center for Global Education (CGE) in collaboration with the School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Education provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to complete a portion of their student teaching requirements overseas. Through the global student teaching program, students complete the first seven weeks of their student teaching experience in New Zealand with the support of an on-site supervisor. The second seven weeks are completed locally back in Virginia.
