Bernie’s Books for Less

Bernie’s Books for Less is a course materials delivery program that lowers the cost of course materials and ensures students have their required course materials on the first day of class.

• Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
• One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
• An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.
• Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) through Canvas.

The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to eligible students.

The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits or nursing kits.

The cost is set at $22.25 per credit hour.

All eligible undergraduate students will be automatically enrolled in the Bernie’s Books for Less program each term.

Marymount has made every effort to launch this new bookstore program to benefit students by providing course materials before the start of the semester at a lower rate. Students have the option to opt out of the program each term. Opting out is valid for one semester and must be renewed if desired for future terms.The deadline to opt-out for the spring 2026 semester is Dec. 28, 2025, to Feb. 1, 2026. Please note: opting out means you will not receive access to your required course materials in a convenient package at a discounted rate. Students should review this option each term and decide accordingly.

After the opt out period ends the bookstore and Student Accounts will work to make the credits and adjustments for those who have opted out of the program. It should be about a month after the deadline for student accounts billing to reflect withdrawing for the semester.

Title IV financial aid recipients may purchase their books either out-of-pocket or by using excess FA funds at the Barnes & Noble College bookstore. Students must review the book list on the Barnes & Noble College bookstore website (Marymountu.bncollege.com) to ensure any purchases made outside of the program align with the faculty’s most current book adoption.
Students who wish to use their Title IV credit to purchase books through the Barnes & Noble College bookstore must contact both the bookstore at and Student Accounts at to receive a book voucher.

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.

Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period.

Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.

Students will receive email reminders from the bookstore to verify their order. If a student does not opt out, their materials will be held at the bookstore and their student account will be charged.

Yes. If the student does not opt out, their materials will be held at the bookstore at least 30 days after the order date while reminder emails are sent. Their student account will be charged.

You may return the book to the bookstore on the same terms and timelines currently in place. If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required textbooks/codes so that you have what you need.

Yes, you will have 48 hours to return your textbooks. If you do not return the textbooks, the charges for the bundle will go back onto your Marymount bill.

About four weeks before term start you will receive an email from Barnes & Noble that includes a link with your textbook information. You can follow the link to review your textbook bundle and confirm your participation in the program.
