The Council for International Exchange of Scholars, under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State, administers the Fulbright Scholar Program for faculty and professionals. Each year, the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program sends some 800 U.S. faculty and professionals to 140 countries to lecture, do research, or participate in seminars. Some 800 foreign faculties come to the U.S. as part of this program as well.
Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation

American Council of Learned Societies Fellowships
ACLS supports funding in the humanities and humanities-related social sciences, which also include ACLS/SSRC/NEH International and Area Studies Fellowships up to $50,000.
DAAD Scholarship Programs for Study and Research in Germany
DAAD offers a wide range of highly selective scholarships, grants, and fellowships for Germany to U.S. and Canadian citizens from undergraduate students to postdoctoral scholars.
European Consortium for Political Research
The ECPR makes various funds available to help people who wish to participate in conferences or summer schools supported by the ECPR. In addition, standing (research) groups may apply for grants to assist them in their activities.
IREX Short-Term Travel Grants
The Short-Term Travel Grants provide support to U.S. scholars for visits of up to two months to conduct postdoctoral research, present papers at conferences, or consult with colleagues in countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Iran, and Turkey.
The Koscuiszko Foundation
The Graduate/Postgraduate Studies and Research in Poland Program allows American graduate students and university faculty members to conduct research at universities in Poland with financial support from the Polish Ministry of National Education and the Kosciuszko Foundation.

The Office of Citizen Exchanges manages professional, youth, and cultural programs through grants with nonprofit American institutions, including community organizations, professional associations, and universities.
Rotary Grants for University Teachers
Rotary provide funds to higher education faculty to travel abroad to teach at colleges and universities in developing countries. The program is intended to build international understanding and foster development/strengthening higher education in low-income areas of the world.
Social Science Research Council: SSRC Fellowships
The SSRC sponsors fellowship and grant programs on a wide range of topics and across many different career stages. SSRC offers an array of fellowships.
