Research Opportunities

Marymount strongly encourages students to engage in original research under the guidance of faculty mentors. This is part of the University’s emphasis on inquiry learning, helping students become active participants in their own education.

Marymount’s DISCOVER Program oversees the University’s annual Student Research Conference, during which projects are presented to the campus community. Through DISCOVER, students who conduct research can receive funding to travel to regional and national conferences to share their work as well. The DISCOVER Center also facilitates summer research opportunities.

In addition, Marymount is a member of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, which allows students to take courses at any of the other 13 member institutions and to borrow books from their libraries.
