STEM-designated program benefits:
The STEM-designation can be extremely beneficial to international students who are looking to work in the U.S. post-graduation. STEM students are eligible for 12 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) while working in practical training to complement their studies AND can apply to extend that period of time an additional 24 months.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) cites STEM careers as having some of the greatest growth potential and some of the highest paying, in-demand jobs.
