Mrs. Jennifer Ann Thompson

Mrs. Jennifer Thompson oversees the School of Education’s Clinical Experience, Assessment, and Licensure. She has been working with children and families in a variety of settings since completing her undergraduate at Tulane University, where she received her bachelor’s in Sociology, with a minor in Psychology – concentrating in Family Studies. Through the Youth Villages YV 360 Leadership program, she held the position of Teacher-Counselor and Lead Anger Reduction Trainer in a Level 4 in-patient facility and in group home settings. Additionally, she helped run the inaugural Tinkergarten program in Mississippi, providing outdoor classes to children to foster critical life skills. She then continued on to become a top-producing real estate agent and facilitated the opening and operation of a multi-million-dollar boutique real estate brokerage as an operations manager. She returned to school and gained her Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction while working full-time at Marymount as an administrative assistant and Lead Doctoral Faculty Mentor (LDFM) coordinator. She is an active member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and a Division of International Special Education Services (DISES) global conference committee member. Since starting at Marymount, Mrs. Jennifer Thompson has enjoyed working with the School of Education faculty to conduct, publish, and present on research projects globally and nationally.
