Summer Hours

Announcing Summer Friday Hours!

In appreciation for employees’ hard work and accomplishments during the academic year, and to enable employees to start their summer weekend early, administrative offices will be authorized to close at 1 p.m. on the following Fridays in July:

July 5, 12, 19, 26

Summer Friday Hours allow eligible employees to leave at 1 p.m. on the dates listed above without any reduction in pay; meaning employees will not be required to work until 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, in order to receive four (4) paid Summer Friday Hours.

Guidelines for Summer Friday Hours

Summer Friday Hours will allow administrative offices to close early if the shortened day does not interfere with fulfilling our students’ needs and maintains the necessary services for internal and external constituents.

  • Employees are required to complete work on time.
  • Summer Friday Hours applies to administrative employees and those with flexible or remote work.
  • Campus service leaders can determine if and how time off may be honored for those campus service operations that are unable to close early.
  • Administrative office leaders can determine if and how time off may be honored if circumstances necessitate an office to remain open, or an employee to work beyond 1 p.m.
  • Part-time employees are not eligible for early release.
  • Employees who call out sick on an early release day must take a full sick day.
  • For an employee on approved leave, Summer Friday Hours do not apply.
  • Employees with pre-approved vacation for the mornings of early release Fridays will use a half-day vacation on those days. The time provided on the afternoons of early dismissal Fridays is not considered vacation time; therefore, time does not accumulate, nor is it paid out after the employee leaves the university.

Thank you for being so dedicated to Marymount and supporting the university throughout the year!
