Key Initiatives

  • Support faculty development through the Ethics Fellow Program, through which tenured and tenure-track faculty collaborate with the Center for Professional Ethics on research and other projects and business development
  • Provide fora for members of the Marymount learning community to share their research and experience
  • Promote ethics education across the curriculum through guest lectures, course development guidance, and other means
  • Represent Marymount in the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty, which places Marymount students in summer internship roles with social service and social action organizations serving the materially poor and other vulnerable groups
  • Convene faculty, other team members, students, and others to plan and host Marymount’s annual Ethics Week
  • Support the preparation for Marymount’s competitive Ethics Bowl Team
  • Advocate before public and private organizations on behalf of Marymount and its stakeholders regarding ethical policies and leading practices
  • Provide ethics advisory services to Marymount University team members and external clients
  • Develop and license intellectual property regarding organizational integrity and responsibility policies and leading practices
  • Enhance relationships with alumni, benefactors, employers, and other community stakeholders by showcasing the value proposition of Marymount for thought and executive leadership on ethics matters, e.g., for continuing education, philanthropic investment, and competitiveness of Marymount students for internship and employment opportunities
