Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

Every ten years, Marymount goes through an extensive review by our regional accreditor, The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It is a two-part process, which first includes a comprehensive documentation of Marymount’s compliance with more than 90 standards of the association. Part two of the review, the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), is the development of a five-year plan to enhance our student learning experience.

Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

Marymount’s QEP, Empowering Students for Service, focuses on enhancing student learning through the lens of service. The focus of our QEP has emerged from one of the Marymount mission pillars – service to others – and is designed to empower students to become engaged citizens prepared to serve effectively within their communities to advance the needs of society.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a QEP?

In order to fulfill the core requirement and comprehensive standards of The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaccreditation process, each university must develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)  –  “a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning” and “should be embedded within the institution’s ongoing integrated institution-wide planning.”

What is Marymount’s QEP?

Empowering Students for Service.

What are the goals of the QEP?

Marymount’s QEP enhances student learning by shaping a campus environment that values service, supporting students with the knowledge, skills, values, and reflective attitudes to contribute meaningful and lifelong service. Our goals are to:

  • Increase student awareness and participation in service opportunities that provide them with a meaningful learning experience
  • Effectively prepare students to be engaged members in their community

What is MY role in the QEP?

Our QEP, Empowering Students for Service, is a long-term, campus-wide initiative. Everyone in our campus community should be aware of our QEP and our new Saints’ Center for Service, and participate in the many ways available to volunteer and serve.  Follow our QEP news on MU social media with #MpowerU.

What will the Saints’ Center for Service do?
