A jazz brunch, a street fair, comedy night and talent show are just a few of the highlights of Marymount University’s annual Family Weekend, “Fleur Power: Peace, Love & Family,” which will be held from Friday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 23. Parents and family members of Marymount students are invited to attend.
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 21
• 6 to 8 p.m., Free Faculty Art Exhibit and Reception: “Impressions, Letterpress, Monotype and Etchings,” featuring the art of Bridget Murphy, Reinsch Library, Barry Gallery. Online RSVP requested
• 8 p.m., Blue Jupiter, a cappella performance, Reinsch Library Auditorium. Free, online RSVP requested
Saturday, Oct. 22
• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Family Festival, featuring faculty expo, food, games, prizes, music and fun. Free, online RSVP requested
• 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., Narrated tour of Washington, D.C., departs from Main House. $10 adults, $5 children 12 and under
• 8 p.m. MU’s Got Talent, variety show featuring students, faculty and staff, Rose Benté Lee Center. Free, online RSVP requested
Sunday, Oct. 23
• 11 a.m., Mass of Thanksgiving, Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel
• noon, Jazz Buffet Brunch, Gerard Phelan Dining Hall. $20 adults, $10 children 12 and under. Current students with a meal plan don’t need tickets, which are available at the door for everyone else.
