Marymount University invites the public to “Design Conversations: An Evening with Distinguished Marymount University Interior Design Alums” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the Ballston Center Auditorium, 1000 North Glebe Road. The panelists include Tama Duffy Day of Gensler, Eileen Vitelli from Studio3877 and HGTV’s Tyler Wisler.
S. Dorothea Scott-Fundling, director of Marymount’s interior design graduate programs and an associate professor, will moderate the panel. The event is free to the public. Those attending are asked to reserve their spots at marymount.edu/design-conversations.
The three panelists are leaders in the interior design profession:
• Day is a principal and firm-wide health and wellness practice area leader with Gensler in Washington, D.C. For three consecutive years, she was named one of the “Most Influential People in Healthcare Design” by Healthcare Design magazine and is one of a few professionals to be named a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, the International Interior Design Association and the American Society of Interior Designers. She serves on the boards of Capitol Hill Village, the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and the CARITAS Project. She earned her master’s in interior design from Marymount and a bachelor’s in Interior Design from North Dakota State University.
• Vitelli is an interior designer at Studio3877 in Washington, D.C. She specializes in hospitality, high-end residential and mixed-use international projects and has completed work in more than 30 countries. She has a keen interest in sustainability and restaurant design. She is also an active volunteer in the local design and education communities, including the local chapters of NEWH, the Hospitality Networking Group; and the American Society of Interior Designers. She earned a bachelor of fine arts from Syracuse University and her master’s of arts in interior design from Marymount.
• An influential New York designer with an international clientele, Wisler has been featured on HGTV’s “Design Star,” ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “George To The Rescue.’’ He works with online retailer OpenSky, is an “eBay Influencer,” a content creator for Skype and a Pinterest “Pinfluencer” in the Home Décor and Men’s Fashion categories. He has collaborated with companies like Kohler, 3M, BRIZO, Cosentino and Benjamin Moore and recently launched a line of eco-luxury bedding for Butterfly Dreams linens. He earned a certificate from the New York School of Interior Design, and graduated from Marymount with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
