Teaching Area<\/b><\/p>\n Research Interests<\/b><\/p>\n Dr. Kathleen Garces-Foley\u2019s scholarship focuses on contemporary religious trends in the United States, including such topics as young adults and religious congregations, new funeral rituals, the hospice movement, and multiethnic churches.<\/p>\n She is one of 12 Virginia faculty members honored by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) with its 2012 Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award. She was recognized in the \u201cRising Star\u201d category.<\/p>\n Dr. Garces-Foley was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant in 2014 to teach at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia.
