Dr. Venskus considers herself to be a strong generalist with clinical experiences spanning the lifespan, i.e., neonates through geriatrics, as well as across specialties. Dr. Venskus served in varied positions within the DPT faculty, including Department Chairperson and Director of Clinic Education. Presently, Dr. Venskus teaches the research and differential diagnosis courses in the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Venskus\u2019s current research interests include development of clinical reasoning, and interprofessional education and practice. She is the 2017 APTA Journal of Physical Therapy Education, Feitelberg Award for Research. Dr. Venskus is a successful grant writer. She is a principal author on consecutive awards from the Administration on Community Living for development and implementation of a falls prevention alliance in the northern Virginia region.<\/p>\n<p>International service in Latin America is a passion for Dr. Venskus. In 2009-10, Dr. Venskus initiated a global service engagement project serving Fundacion Hogar Manos Abiertas in Costa Rica. Annually, third-year students are invited to participate in this advanced, integrative, personal\/professional enrichment opportunity that is now serving Nicaragua.
