She is also received her MA in Forensic and Legal Psychology here at Marymount University. Prior to joining the faculty at Marymount University, Dr. Porter was the Research Program Manager for Fairfax County&#8217;s Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Her dissertation, entitled &#8220;Gatekeepers of the Juvenile Justice System: Intake Officers, Decision-Making, and Racial Disparities,&#8221; looked at diversion-decision making practices of Intake Officers in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, painting, reading, and watching movies (especially sci-fi).<\/p>\n<p><b>Teaching Areas<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Research
