Dr. Uma Kelekar, an assistant professor of healthcare management in the School of Business Administration at Marymount University, gave two talks during the spring.<\/p>\n
Kelekar presented a social enterprise pitch \u0093Eye Health Promotion and Prevention of Pterygium in Peru\u0094 at the Global Health Innovation Conference at Yale University on April 14. She spoke on the topic of \u0093Fiscal Competition in Health Spending: Examining Physicians\u0092 Salaries Among Metropolitan Areas in the United States\u0094 at the Health Teach Conference held by Advena World on May 15 in Silver Spring, Md.<\/p>\n
She also reviewed the book, \u0093Risks and Challenges in Medical Tourism:Understanding the Global Market for Health Services\u0094 in the South Asian Journal of Global Business Research.<\/p>\n
Her research interests include public health finance and policy, health economics, and health econometrics. She teaches graduate-level courses in healthcare management.<\/p>\n
