The Marymount University community celebrates \u0093Dancing for Unity\u0094 in a series of cultural diversity events the week of March 23-March 27. The public is invited to join Marymount students at each event of the 19th Annual International Week, hosted by International Student Services. All events are free, except the Friday international banquet. A $10 ticket donation benefits Syrian refugee children.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Monday, March 23, a lunchtime Culture Fair and Fun kicks off the week and features food, cultural items, books and music from around the world in Marymount\u0092s Lee Center Atrium from 12 – 1:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Monday evening from 6 – 7:30 p.m., a Working World book discussion with co-author Mark Overmann, deputy director and senior policy specialist at the Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange, examines careers in international affairs.<\/p>\n
Tuesday, March 24, a Bollywood Night of music, performances, dancing and regional food is held in the Lee Center, Lower Level Gym from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
A noon Interfaith Forum on Wednesday, March 25 will address global sacred pilgrimages. The event will take place in Gerard Dining Room.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday afternoon, Saudi Student Association and International Student Services will sponsor a visit\u00a0to the King Abdullah Cultural Hall. A shuttle will depart from Gerard Lobby to the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission\u00a0to the United States at 2:00 p.m. and will return at 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
An Iron Chef International<\/strong> cooking competition begins at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 26 in Gerard Dining Hall.<\/p>\n The week culminates with the 19th Annual International Banquet, a semi-formal evening of exotic food, cultural performances and a global fashion show on Friday, March 27 at 6 p.m. in the Lee Center\u0092s Verizon Gym. The $10 tickets benefit Syrian refugee children and are available online at https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/ibanquet2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n
