Ceaser on Lincoln\u0092s defense of equal natural rights \u0096 as proclaimed by the Declaration of Independence \u0096 against the radical critique of America\u0092s founding principles by proslavery Southerners.<\/p>\n<p>Ceaser is the Henry F. Byrd Professor of Political Science at the University of Virginia and the author of many scholarly works, such as&nbsp;\u0093Reconstructing America\u0094&nbsp;and&nbsp;\u0093Nature and History in American Political Development.\u0094<\/p>\n<p>A project of the department\u0092s American Heritage Initiative, the aim of the event is to generate a thoughtful campus conversation about America\u0092s founding principles.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093We hope to have a lively exchange of views during the question-and-answer session,\u0094 said Dr. Patrick Mullins, an associate professor of history at Marymount.<\/p>\n<p>Refreshments will be provided after the talk in the Barry Art Gallery adjacent to the auditorium.
