Several students and faculty members will share their work at the annual Shades of Blue Poetry Reading from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 in the Lee Reception Room of Reinsch Library at Marymount University. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
\u0093It\u0092s so much fun every year!\u0094 said Holly Karapetkova<\/a>, chair of Marymount\u0092s Department of Literature and Languages. \u0093It\u0092s one of my favorite events. For students, it\u0092s a great opportunity for them to read their work in public and have that sense of an audience. It\u0092s also an affirmation that their work matters and is valued.\u0094<\/p>\n Readers include the following winners of Marymount\u0092s annual poetry contest: Amanda Ghobadi, a senior graphic design major; Peter Lengye, a senior English major; Stephen Niedzwiecki, a junior English major; and Walker Valdez, a senior English major.<\/p>\n The student editors of BlueInk, Marymount\u0092s literary magazine, will also read.
