Marymount University is asking area residents to attend its Active By Design-athon and help interior design students find practical solutions for creating active environments that improve well-being. The event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 1 and 2 at the school’s main campus, 2807 North Glebe Road.

“It’s an opportunity for students and interior designers to engage the users as experts in their own kind of living instead of having designers serving as experts for them,” said Moira Gannon Denson, assistant professor of interior design. “Area residents can really help mentor student teams and provide input. We welcome anyone from the community who wants to help out.”

The two days of workshops will be held in Gerard Dining Hall. A $30 registration fee covers participant entry and breakfast and lunch both days. To register, go to marymount.edu/designathon.
