The public is invited to attend a free lecture on how to read an 18th Century Novel by British literature expert Dr. Alok Yadav. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 in Ostapenko Hall, Room 1001 at Marymount University, 2807 North Glebe Road.<\/p>\n
Yadav studies literature of that period, world literature and the literature of empire. He is the author of \u0093Before the Empire of English: Literature, Provinciality, and Nationalism in Eighteenth-Century Britain.\u0094 He is currently writing a book about Rudyard Kipling’s \u0093Kim\u0094 <\/em>and political criticism of literature.\u00a0<\/p>\n Yadav received his Ph.D. from Cornell University and taught at the California Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago before joining the English department at George Mason University.\u00a0<\/p>\n The event is sponsored by Marymount\u0092s Graduate Program in English and Humanities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The public is invited to attend a free lecture on how to read an 18th Century Novel by British literature expert Dr. Alok Yadav.
