The program, a collaborative effort with the ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, will prepare students for leadership positions in the nonprofit and association sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093The certificate is intended to help professionals currently in associations and nonprofits expand their management knowledge and advance their leadership development,\u0094 said Dr. Lorri Cooper, chair and director of Marymount\u0092s leadership and management programs. She noted that the certificate program could also be a first step toward a master\u0092s degree in leadership and management.<\/p>\n<p>The five-course program is conveniently offered weekends and evenings, and takes only 12-18 months to complete.\u00a0\u00a0All courses will be taught at Marymount\u0092s new Ballston Center, which opens this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the inaugural cohort are now being accepted at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/AssociationManagement\">marymount.edu\/AssociationManagement<\/a>. Classes begin August 28.<\/p>\n<p>\u0093The association job market is rapidly growing and increasingly competitive for leadership roles, and the specialized knowledge and skills, like those developed through the new graduate certificate, are at a premium,\u0094 said ASAE President &#038; CEO John H. Graham. \u0093Ultimately, the more you know, the more you can do, and the more attractive you are to an employer.\u00a0The graduate certificate is an ideal way for association professionals to significantly update their professional profile, advance their career, or broaden their knowledge base through acclaimed post-secondary education.\u0094<\/p>\n<p>ASAE is a membership organization of more than 35,000 association executives and industry partners representing more than 7,400 organizations. Its members manage leading trade associations, individual membership societies and voluntary organizations across the United States and in nearly 50 countries around the world.
