Marymount University President Irma Becerra<\/a> was selected to serve as Vice Chair for the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area\u2019s Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n The Consortium\u2019s governing body<\/a> consists of the 18 member university presidents and the Consortium\u2019s President and CEO. President Becerra joins Gallaudet University President and Consortium Board Chair Roberta Cordano on the Board\u2019s newly formed Executive Committee in this prestigious Vice Chair role. Additionally, she will serve concurrently as Board Treasurer.<\/p>\n Following this year, President Becerra will ascend to the Board Chair position for a two-year term. This will mark the third time in the Consortium\u2019s history that Marymount has been represented in this top role. Previous tenures were held by President James Bundschuh from 2009-2011 and President Majella Berg, RSHM from 1992-1993.<\/p>\n \u201cI am deeply honored to be selected to serve as Vice Chair for the Consortium\u2019s Board of Trustees,\u201d President Becerra said. \u201cThis role represents an incredible opportunity to foster collaboration and drive positive change in higher education across the national capital region.
