{"id":1955,"date":"2019-11-11T10:21:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T10:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/developmenttwo.marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-establishes-global-education-continuum-with-rshm-high-schools\/"},"modified":"2019-11-11T10:21:00","modified_gmt":"2019-11-11T10:21:00","slug":"marymount-establishes-global-education-continuum-with-rshm-high-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/blog\/marymount-establishes-global-education-continuum-with-rshm-high-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Marymount establishes global Education Continuum with RSHM high schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After signing agreements with Marymount University this summer, officials from Marymount high schools in <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/URL-Redirects\/111119-Marymount-Barranquilla\">Barranquilla<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/URL-Redirects\/111119-Marymount-Medellin\">Medellin<\/a>, Colombia, visited Marymount\u0092s campus in Arlington last month as part of the newly-established \u0093Marymount Continuum.\u0094 This groundbreaking international partnership will open new doors for students who seek to earn post-secondary academic credits while still in high school and continue their Catholic education in college.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFeatures of the Continuum include guaranteed admission and renewable scholarships to Marymount University for graduates in Barranquilla and Medellin who meet the GPA and\/or test score requirements. By meeting the listed criteria, students could receive a minimum total value of $65,000 in scholarships through four years of enrollment.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBoth of the Marymount high schools in Colombia will also create summer programs at Marymount University where their rising juniors and seniors can earn college credits in programs that include criminal justice, nursing and health, fashion design, information technology and game design.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nDual enrollment opportunities are also being planned at the high school students\u0092 home campuses in Colombia, with courses to be determined based on local faculty expertise. Specific to the University\u0092s agreement with Marymount Barranquilla, Marymount will also examine new opportunities for collaboration in connection to AP course training for Barranquilla faculty and visiting faculty exchanges, as well as new student program opportunities such as a summer teaching internship at Marymount Barranquilla for Marymount University.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/URL-Redirects\/111119-Barranquilla-Video\">Click here<\/a> to watch a video produced by Barranquilla students, who discuss the advantages of the Marymount Continuum.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u0093The Marymount Continuum reflects our core values of intellectual curiosity and having a global perspective, as we are consistently recognized for our international diversity,\u0094 said Dr. Irma Becerra, President of Marymount University. \u0093It is also aligned with the Marymount Pledge, in which we commit to students that they will graduate in four years or less with a degree that prepares them for a successful career and life. Through dual enrollment courses, these students can accelerate their path to graduation while furthering their education in the Catholic tradition.
