Dr. Anne Magro has been appointed the next Dean of Marymount University\u2019s College of Business, Innovation, Leadership and Technology (BILT)<\/a>. Starting in May, she will lead a College at the cutting edge of innovation, with leading programs in domestic and international business and management, information technology, economics, design, art, cybersecurity and more.<\/p>\n Following a rigorous national search process, Dr. Magro will fill the role that has been held on an interim basis by Dr. Soumya Sivakumar<\/a> since August 2023. Previously, she held several notable leadership positions at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University that included Interim Dean and Deputy Dean & Senior Associate Dean for Strategy and Impact, through which she played a key role in shaping the college’s vision and strategic direction.<\/p>\n \u201cDr. Magro\u2019s vast experience and expertise will enrich our academic community and stimulate growth and innovation, taking our College of BILT to new heights of excellence,\u201d said Dr. Hesham El-Rewini<\/a>, Executive Vice President and Provost at Marymount University. \u201cHer visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to fostering a culture of growth and innovation will undoubtedly inspire our faculty, staff and students to achieve new levels of success.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am honored to be selected to lead the College of BILT\u2019s vibrant community. Marymount as a whole prioritizes interdisciplinarity and educating the whole person. This approach, together with BILT\u2019s unique blend of art, design, business and technology, paves the way for transformative educational programs for a diverse student body,\u201d Dr. Magro said. \u201cIt also enables us to engage in innovative, knowledge-generating and creative activities, as well as partner with local and global communities to tackle the world\u2019s complex challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n At the Costello College of Business, Dr. Magro\u2019s impact has been felt in numerous ways. She spearheaded a redesign of the undergraduate business curriculum, introducing a business foundations core that emphasized interdisciplinary studies and prepared students for the complexities of today’s business environment. Under her leadership, the college experienced significant growth in faculty and staff, expanded its research initiatives and achieved remarkable success in program development and accreditation.<\/p>\n
