Marymount University has appointed Carl Whitman as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). He will officially begin his duties on Friday, May 1.

\nWhitman has extensive higher education experience in public and private, four-year and two-year institutions, most recently at Montgomery College in Maryland and previously at California State University, Stanislaus. Additionally, he was a founding employee of the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC), an innovative non-profit regional library cooperative supporting the information and research needs of nine universities in the Washington metropolitan area, including Marymount.

\nOutside of higher education, he has provided technology consulting and advisory services for KPMG, IBM, Xerox Corporation and the Smithsonian Institution.

In addition, his expertise will be instrumental in the continued implementation of our Workday enterprise resource planning system.\u0094
