Marymount is dedicated to helping these students<\/a> overcome obstacles and equipping them for immediate and long-term success.<\/p>\n Upon arrival at Marymount, transfer students will have access to many resources designed to make their transition as seamless and comfortable as possible. The University’s comprehensive onboarding process features specialized orientation programs, academic advising and peer mentoring from students who have successfully navigated the same experience. The ultimate goal is to ensure that transfer students feel supported in all aspects of their academic and social lives.<\/p>\n Marymount\u2019s unique position \u2014 not all transfer students are created equal. Some come from two-year colleges, some from other four-year institutions and others may have non-traditional educational backgrounds. Marymount prides itself on offering academic pathways tailored to each student’s needs and aspirations. Whether it’s transferring credits, career counseling or mapping out a degree plan, Marymount has it covered.<\/p>\n Many transfer students need help to balance their academic pursuits with other responsibilities, such as jobs or family commitments. At Marymount, we understand that life can be unpredictable and busy. To support such students, we offer a range of flexible scheduling options, including evening classes, online courses and hybrid models. We aim to make higher education accessible to all, regardless of their circumstances.<\/p>\n Many transfer students face a significant financial challenge when pursuing their education. At Marymount, we take this issue seriously and offer various financial aid options, including scholarships and grants, to make education affordable for everyone. Our commitment to transfer students is evident in the provision of exclusive scholarships dedicated to them.<\/p>\n Eligible full-time transfer applicants are automatically offered the highest scholarship they qualify for from the list below:<\/p>\n All four academic scholarships are renewable for up to four years of study, provided that the student maintains full-time enrollment (12+ credits) and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. To receive priority consideration for these awards, a student’s application for admission and supporting documents should be submitted by the published admissions priority date. Please note that students must be awarded, at most, one of these scholarships. These awards are all tuition-specific. Our collaborations with nearby community colleges forge a smooth pathway for students to transfer credits and even obtain associate degrees on the way to earning a Marymount bachelor’s degree. By embracing this cooperative strategy, we can reduce the burden of both time and financial resources while simultaneously providing students with the necessary preparation to tackle the academic hurdles they’ll face at Marymount.<\/p>\n Providing financial support is essential for transfer students. An example of such a partnership is with Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)<\/a>. NOVA graduates can qualify for up to $25,500 in scholarships and grants per year before filing the FAFSA. Every transfer student is awarded a merit scholarship upon admission to Marymount.
