Sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/about-mu\/about-becerra\/\">Office of the President<\/a>, it demonstrates a deep commitment to retaining and maximizing the talent and skills of exceptional community members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHere at Marymount, one of our key goals is to help our top talent discover leadership qualities, grow in their careers and thrive professionally,\u201d explained Dr. Irma Becerra, President of Marymount University. \u201cI am pleased to offer this new initiative to engage staff and faculty who are emerging leaders and who aspire to advance their careers here at Marymount.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Selected candidates to the program have the opportunity to join fellow Marymount staff and faculty leaders in a 10-month cohort, learn about the overall operations of the University and connect with President Becerra, <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/about-mu\/about-becerra\/presidents-cabinet\/\">her Cabinet<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/about-mu\/about-becerra\/board-of-trustees\/\">Board of Trustees<\/a>. Up to 10 participants will be selected for the program each year. The following employees will begin monthly sessions this September:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/marymountsaints.com\/sports\/wlax\/coaches\/Kate_Athing?view=bio\">Kate Athing<\/a>, Head <a href=\"https:\/\/marymountsaints.com\/sports\/wlax\/index\">Women\u2019s Lacrosse<\/a> Coach<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/staff-members\/paula-cristina-azevedo\/\">Dr. Paula Cristina Azevedo<\/a>, Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Experience<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Laura Finkelstein, Associate Vice President of <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/Student-Life\/Health-Wellness\/\">Student Health &amp; Well-Being<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/staff-members\/sarah-fischer\/\">Dr. Sarah Fischer<\/a>, Assistant Professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-sciences-and-humanities\/school-of-social-and-behavioral-sciences\/undergraduate-programs\/criminal-justice\/\">Criminal Justice<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Dr. Louis Frisenda, Assistant Vice Provost<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Joseph Provenzano, Director of Teaching and Academic Development<\/li>\n<li>Susan Grunder, Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/student-life\/activities-leadership\/campus-ministry\/office-of-ministry-and-spiritual-life\/\">Ministry and Spiritual Life<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/services-resources\/student-academic-hub\/about-the-hub\/meet-the-staff\/\">Dr. Michelle Steiner<\/a>, Assistant Vice President for Student Success<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/marymountsaints.com\/information\/directory\/bios\/Ryan_Wildenhain?view=bio\">Ryan Wildenhain<\/a>, Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis is such an exciting time for staff and faculty at Marymount to engage in this unique leadership development opportunity,\u201d said Kendra Gillespie, Associate Vice President and <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/faculty-and-staff\/human-resource-services\/\">Chief Human Resources Officer<\/a> at Marymount University. \u201cProgram participants will explore how to become more effective leaders who can make a meaningful impact. They will accomplish this by learning how to leverage their individual strengths in alignment with the University\u2019s workforce needs, organizational direction and their own personal career aspirations. We look forward to taking this exciting journey with our inaugural Fellows!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the theme of \u2018From Good to Greatness,\u2019 the Presidential Leadership Fellows Program will focus on exposing participants to senior administrative work, University governance, Board of Trustees leadership and further embracing <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/about-mu\/our-mission-vision-plan\/\">Marymount\u2019s mission and future position<\/a> in the world of higher education.
