It has previously been conducted at Marymount University in 2018, 2015 and 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarymount University is thrilled that CEE\u2019s USA Biolympiad will once again be held on our campus this year,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/staff-members\/todd-rimkus\/\">Dr. Todd Rimkus<\/a>, Director of Marymount\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-sciences-and-humanities\/school-of-natural-sciences-and-mathematics\/\">School of Natural Sciences &amp; Mathematics<\/a> and Professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/academics\/college-of-sciences-and-humanities\/school-of-natural-sciences-and-mathematics\/undergraduate-programs\/biology-b-s-b-a\/\">Biology<\/a> and Physical Sciences. \u201cOur faculty are passionate about helping students succeed now and into the future, and we\u2019re looking forward to putting the spotlight on these high-achieving young adults. We\u2019re also excited to demonstrate how a STEM education at Marymount can get these students, who are the best and brightest in their generation, where they want to go in their future careers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12864\" src=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FOR-WEB-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Marymount to host 2022 USA Biolympiad Finals this May\" width=\"700\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FOR-WEB-2-1.jpg 700w, https:\/\/marymount.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FOR-WEB-2-1-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nearly 11,000 students register annually to participate in USABO\u2019s national biology exams, and the top 20 National Finalists participate in 10 days of intense biology instruction at the USABO National Finals. The four gold medalists from USABO\u2019s National Finals will represent the U.S. at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibo-info.org\/en\/\">International Biology Olympiad (IBO)<\/a> in Yerevan, Armenia from July 10-18, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>USABO has placed first worldwide in the international competition in 2011 and 2013. Each of the four members of Team USA has also medaled at the IBO since first competing in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCEE is proud to work with Marymount University to train the USABO National Finalists in practical and theoretical biology,\u201d said Joann DiGennaro, President of CEE. \u201cThe students are some of the highest achieving biology students in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a wonderful opportunity for USABO scholars to be exposed to Marymount University\u2019s research and faculty,\u201d added Dr. Michelle King, Program Manager of the USABO.<\/p>\n<p>USABO\u2019s mission concentrates on stimulating young scholars\u2019 intellectual curiosity and developing their critical thinking in laboratory skills and biological reasoning to propel them to careers of excellence and leadership in science and technology. CEE provides necessary resources for students to prepare for the exam and explore the biological sciences.
