{"id":16474,"date":"2023-05-24T14:26:24","date_gmt":"2023-05-24T18:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/?page_id=16474"},"modified":"2023-08-08T09:22:26","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T13:22:26","slug":"basic-life-and-accidental-death-and-dismemberment-add-insurance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/faculty-and-staff\/human-resource-services\/benefits-2\/basic-life-and-accidental-death-and-dismemberment-add-insurance\/","title":{"rendered":"Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&amp;D) Insurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Life and AD&amp;D insurance are not something you think about every day.\u00a0 But they should be an important part of everybody\u2019s financial planning \u2013 no matter what your age.\u00a0 Your benefits program offers the following coverages provided by UNUM to help protect you and your family when it\u2019s needed most<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility Information<\/h2>\n<p>As a full-time employee, 30+ hours per week, you are eligible for life and AD&amp;D insurance benefits.\u00a0\u00a0 Benefits begin the first day of your date of hire.<\/p>\n<h2>When Coverage Ends<\/h2>\n<p>Benefits end at the end of your last day worked.<\/p>\n<h2>Basic Life Insurance<\/h2>\n<p>At no cost to you, you will receive one (1) times your salary (to a maximum of $50,000 for staff and $100,000 for President\/Vice-President) of life insurance through UNUM. This benefit becomes effective on your first day of employment with Marymount University and continues until you cease employment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Benefits begin to reduce at age 70.<\/li>\n<li>This plan contains a continued protection provision so in instances of total disability, prior to age 60, the premium will be waived and the coverage will continue.<\/li>\n<li>This plan also has an Accelerated Benefit Option which pays 100% of the benefit for the terminally ill up to $250,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&amp;D)<\/h2>\n<p>At no cost to you, you will receive one (1) times your salary (to a maximum of $50,000 for staff and $100,000 for President\/Vice-President) of Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&amp;D) insurance through Unum.
