To learn more about the different voluntary benefits see the information below:<\/p>\n<h2>Farmers Insurance<\/h2>\n<p>As a Marymount University employee, you have access to auto and home insurance from Farmers GroupSelect.\u00a0 This program provides you with special savings, outstanding customer service, and a full suite of products.\u00a0 In addtion to auto and homeowners insurance, we offer a variety of other policies and endorsements.\u00a0 Direct-bill program coming soon January 2024.<\/p>\n<h2>Legal Resources<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With over 70% of Americans having a legal need each year, Legal Resources gives\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you and your family access to an attorney for everyday needs. Whether your legal\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">matter is expected or unexpected, you&#8217;ll have immediate and ongoing access to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">our network of highly rated law firms.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You pay no attorney fees for all Fully Covered Services, which include will\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">preparation, traffic court, advice and consultation, real estate matters,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uncontested divorce, billing disputes, and more! Coverage under this Program is fully portable, so it can move with you if you change jobs, retire or leave the University. For more information <a href=\"https:\/\/marymount.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Long-Term-Care-NEW-Marymount-University-NHF-2017.pdf\">click here<\/a> or go online to www.genworth.com\/marymount.<\/p>\n<h2>Metro SmarTrip<\/h2>\n<p>Marymount has partnered with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to offer employees transit and parking benefits using Metro SmarTrip cards. <strong>Payroll Deduction<\/strong>. The amount you designate for this benefit will be deducted on a pre-tax basis from your paycheck of up to $300 per month for transit and $300 for the parking.\u00a0 The SmarTrip card can be used to ride the Metro (bus or rail) and pay for parking at area Metro stations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How it works:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employees choose the amount they want deducted from their bi-weekly paycheck for transit and\/or parking expenses by completing the enrollment form and submitting it to Human Resource Services. The amount of the deduction, subject to the applicable limits, is not taxable.<\/li>\n<li>The payroll deduction is taken out prior to receiving your monthly SmarTrip dollars. If you return your form to the Human Resources Office before the 15th of the month, your benefit will be effective on the first of the following month.<\/li>\n<li>You must claim your SmarTrip Dollars each month by adding it to your card at a Passes\/Farecard Metro machine. If the money is not added to your card by the last day of the month, that money will roll-over.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Pets Best<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Pets Best <\/strong>is a program designed to provide coverage for your dog\/cat that fits your needs and budget.\u00a0 The plan can cover accidents, accident related diagnostic exams, wellness visits, and illness. \u00a0This is direct-billed, get a quote or enroll at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.petsbest.com\/lp\/marymount-university?CI=marymount\">https:\/\/www.petsbest.com\/lp\/marymount-university?CI=marymount<\/a> or call (800) 984-8700.<\/p>\n<h2>Voluntary Life Insurance<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the university paid basic life insurance plan, you may purchase additional life insurance for yourself and \/or dependents at your own expense.\u00a0 <strong>Payroll deduction<\/strong>.\u00a0 Elect the option in Workday in the Benefits module.<\/p>\n<h3>New employees<\/h3>\n<p>Voluntary life insurance can be in increments of $1,000 up to a maximum of five (5) times your annual salary not to exceed $500,000. An Evidence of Insurability Form is required for amounts over $150,000.<\/p>\n<p>Spousal life insurance can be purchased in increments of $1,000 up to $150,000. An Evidence of Insurability Form is required for spousal coverage amounts of $30,000 or more.<\/p>\n<h3>Existing employees<\/h3>\n<p>Voluntary life insurance can only be increased during open enrollment or in the event of a qualifying life event. During these times you may increase your coverage in increments of $1,000, up to $500,000. Employees either electing coverage for the first time or increasing coverage must complete an Evidence of Insurability Form.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Life benefits begin to reduce at age 70.<\/li>\n<li>This plan contains a premium waiver. If you become disabled and are no longer able to work, your premiums will be waived during the period of disability.<\/li>\n<li>This plan also has an accelerated benefit option, which pays 100% of the benefit for the terminally ill up to a maximum of $250,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Spousal life insurance can only be increased during open enrollment.
