A student must have a FAFSA on file for the application to be complete and ready for review.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application<\/strong>: Submit your request detailing the circumstances and need for funding.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review<\/strong>: The Emergency Fund Committee, chaired by Jill McCabe, Vice President, Athletics &amp; Student Life, reviews requests.\n<ul>\n<li>The Committee includes representatives from:\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Affairs<\/li>\n<li>Financial Aid<\/li>\n<li>Student Accounts<\/li>\n<li>Student Wellness<\/li>\n<li>International Student &amp; Scholar Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Meeting Schedule<\/strong>: The Committee meets weekly during the academic year and as needed during the summer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Notification<\/strong>: Students will receive an email with the Committee\u2019s <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">decision within ten business days of submitting a request<\/span><\/strong>. The committee will try to expedite all requests sooner based on the number of requests received.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Funding is limited and only available for select circumstances; not all submissions will receive support. All decisions made by the Emergency Fund Committee are final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- Application Guidelines --><\/p>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div class=\"acd-heading\">\n<h3>Application Guidelines<\/h3>\n<div class=\"arrow\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Answer\" src=\"\/App_Themes\/MarymountUniversity\/images\/arrow.png\" alt=\"Answer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<div class=\"panel-body\">\n<p>The Emergency Fund Committee reviews <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>one-time requests<\/strong><\/span> for emergency funding, which may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Medical emergency<\/li>\n<li>Child\/family care assistance<\/li>\n<li>Unexpected car repair bill<\/li>\n<li>Rent<\/li>\n<li>Food insecurity<\/li>\n<li>Technology\/class materials<\/li>\n<li>Tuition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- Submitting a Request --><\/p>\n<div class=\"panel panel-default\">\n<div class=\"acd-heading\">\n<h3>Submitting a Request<\/h3>\n<div class=\"arrow\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Answer\" src=\"\/App_Themes\/MarymountUniversity\/images\/arrow.png\" alt=\"Answer\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"panel-collapse collapse\">\n<div class=\"panel-body\">\n<p>To be considered for Emergency Funding, the student must apply via the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/7SuyaRqA0N?origin=lprLink\">Emergency Funding Request Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The request needs to be from the student\u2019s Marymount email address (@marymount.edu) and include the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Student\u2019s first and last name<\/li>\n<li>Marymount student ID number<\/li>\n<li>Current contact information: email, phone, home address<\/li>\n<li>The specific request (dollar amount and intended use)<\/li>\n<li>The reason for the request<\/li>\n<li>Include specific proof of your unexpected financial hardship, such as bills, invoices, repair estimates, or official statements related to your situation (e.g., medical expenses, job loss, or childcare changes). <strong>Please note that letters from family members or a copy of your student account bill <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">are not considered<\/span> official supporting documentation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A Faculty\/staff letter of support or providing the name and contact information of faculty\/staff listing them as a \u201creferral.\u201d <em>You do not need to submit this letter, but if they know your situation and provide supporting information, the committee will review it with your request.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the committee selects the student for the <strong>Stay on Track Grant<\/strong>\u2014they will notify the student of the tuition assistance and deposit the scholarship funds directly into the student\u2019s Marymount account.<\/p>\n<p>If selected for an <strong>O&#8217;Shaughnessy-Hurst Foundation (OSHF) Student Emergency Grant<\/strong>, the student will be informed of the decision.
