Below are some of our efforts to support food security and good health among all members of our community. We encourage students, staff, and faculty to participate in these initiatives.

A campus-wide initiative launched in Spring 2019. There are 5 cupboards located on-campus that offer different food items such as granola bars, beans, rice, oatmeal and more! The philosophy of Appollonie’s is simple: take what you need and give when you can.

Contact: bewell@marymount.edu

Visit one of our 5 locations on campus [Ballston, Rowley, St. Joseph, Caruthers, Gerard Commuter Lounge]

The Student Academic Hub staff also have baskets of healthy snacks in their offices and at the front desk for students who need a boost before/after class, or during a mid-day break. Feel free to stop by the Hub’s front desk in Rowley 1005 and ask to grab a snack, or grab one as you use the Hub’s services – academic advising, academic coaching, peer tutoring, and/or Student Access Services.

Food for Thought is a club working to alleviate food insecurity & promote urban agriculture in Arlington! What began as a way to engage Marymount University biology students in a fun community project has grown into a thriving organization that works to alleviate local food insecurity and promote sustainable living through urban agriculture.
