The Marymount University medical forms must be completed and submitted to the Student Health Services before the deadline of August 1, 2026. If noncompliant, class attendance may be restricted.<\/p>\n

Marymount University is committed to fostering a safe and healthy learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff. To meet this commitment, all enrolled students are required<\/i> to submit complete immunization records and a personal health history prior to the start of classes. These mandatory requirements help prevent the spread of infectious diseases and promote the well-being of the entire campus community.<\/p>\n

Specific immunizations other than those required for Student Health Services may be required by other departments (physical therapy and nursing). Please check with your program for immunizations required. The required immunizations can be found below and must be submitted in the Medicat portal. Records must be in English to ensure accuracy.<\/p>\n

Immunizations (Vaccinations) required by the university<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        2. MMR (2 doses or titers)<\/li>\n
        3. Hepatitis B (3 doses or titers)<\/li>\n
        4. Meningococcal ACYW* (one dose given after 16th birthday) (for students 23 years and under)  *<\/li>\n
        5. Meningitis B* (requires 2 doses) (for students 23 years and under)<\/li>\n
        6. Polio 4 dose series<\/span><\/li>\n
        7. Consent to Treat a Minor<\/a> (If you will be younger than 18 during your time at Marymount, your parent\/guardian must complete a Consent to Treat a Minor form.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          *Meningococcal ACYW and Meningitis B are different vaccines, and both are required for students 23 years and under)<\/p>\n

          If you feel that you are exempt from the vaccination requirements due to religious or medical reasons, please see the links below.<\/span><\/p>\n

          If you are fully online, please notify Student Health Services. You are not required to submit any records.<\/p>\n

           <\/p>\n

          Exemptions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Pursuant to Virginia law, no student shall be admitted by a school unless the student submits documentary proof of immunization to the school or unless the student is exempted from immunization as outlined in the Code of Virginia.  The following are exceptions to VA immunization requirements: (i) the student submits an affidavit stating that the administration of immunizing agents conflicts with the student’s religious tenets or practices; or (ii) the student has written certification from a licensed physician, a licensed advanced practice registered nurse, or a local health department that one or more of the required immunizations may be detrimental to the student’s health, indicating the specific nature and probable duration of the medical condition or circumstance that contraindicates immunization.<\/p>\n

          Every Marymount University student must meet the VA state immunization requirements to attend the University.   Students must provide the University\u2019s Student Health Services documentation that they have met VA immunization requirements unless the student is exempted from immunization as permitted by law.  These procedures outline the process for students to request an exception from immunization under Virginia law.<\/p>\n

          Religious exemption:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

          If the administration of immunizing agents is against your religious tenets or practices, you may complete the religious exemption. <\/a> Signing this affidavit, you understand, that in the occurrence of an outbreak, potential epidemic or epidemic of a vaccine-preventable disease, the State Health Commissioner or University President may order your exclusion from school, for the community\u2019s protection, until the danger has passed.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Medical exemption:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

          If the administration of immunization(s) is detrimental to the student\u2019s health, the student can be exempt from the university vaccination requirements. You may complete the medical exemption<\/a>. In the case of an outbreak, potential epidemic, or epidemic of a vaccine-preventable disease at Marymount University, the State or County Commissioner may require you to be excluded from the university and associated events for your own protection until the risk has passed.<\/p>\n

          Students who fail to meet the submission requirements by the applicable deadline will not be permitted to attend classes or participate in any university activities.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
