Rate of pursuit applies specifically to Chapter 33. It differs from training time, which is used for all other chapters. Schools certify actual credit. VA calculates rate of pursuit by dividing the number of credit (or credit hour equivalents) being pursued by the number of credit considered to be full-time by the school. The resulting percentage is the student\u2019s rate of pursuit.
\nExamples: If full-time is 12 credits, then rate of pursuit for:<\/p>\n
Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) is paid based on training time (Time in Courses).<\/p>\n
If you have any questions in regards to your amounts, please contact the VA Education Center (888-GIBILL-1 (888-442-4551), (7 a.m. \u2013 6 p.m. Central Time, Monday-Friday).<\/p>\n
Veterans registering for classes which meet for less than the standard 10-11 week session will be certified by the number of credits for the class and the class dates and paid accordingly.<\/p>\n
Example:<\/span><\/p>\n If your schedule is like the above example you will be seen as PART-TIME<\/span><\/i> by the VA 01\/19\/2021-03\/08\/2021 (Class 1, 2, and 3) and <\/span>HALF-TIME<\/span><\/i>\u00a0 from <\/span><\/i>03\/15\/2021-05\/08\/2021 (Class 2 and 3).
