Faculty and staff parking permits are issued and distributed through the Human Resources Department. Because parking at Marymount is limited, students are encouraged to use Metro and free <a title=\"MU Shuttles\" href=\"\/Student-Life\/Parking-Transportation\/MU-Shuttles\">MU Shuttles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Students parking vehicles on campus must obtain and display a current Marymount parking permit available from the ID and Parking Office. Students with parking permits may park only in their assigned lot while attending class or a University function.<\/p>\n<h2>Student Parking Areas<\/h2>\n<h3>For Residents<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Blue Garage, located next to the Library, or White Garage, located under Ostapenko Hall <span style=\"color: #000000;\">ONLY\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For Commuter Students<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Blue Garage, located next to the Library, or White Garage, located under Ostapenko Hall<\/li>\n<li>Ballston Center, located at 1000 North Glebe Road<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">For DPT Students\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Blue Garage, located next to the Library, or White Garage, located under Ostapenko Hall<\/li>\n<li>Fairfax Garage from 6:30am-11:30pm on week days and 7am-6pm on Saturdays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Violations &amp; Penalties<\/h2>\n<p>Violations of the Marymount University Parking Rules and Regulations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Parking in a fire lane<\/li>\n<li>Parking in an inappropriate area (any area other than those designated as Student Parking)<\/li>\n<li>Parking in any \u201cReserved\u201d space, such as those for faculty, administration, handicapped<\/li>\n<li>No permit or improperly displayed permit<\/li>\n<li>Parking in two spaces, wheels extended over white line<\/li>\n<li>Parking where there is no designated space<\/li>\n<li>Parking on a yellow line<\/li>\n<li>Blocking the flow of traffic<\/li>\n<li>Speeding or reckless driving<\/li>\n<li>Failure to obey traffic direction<\/li>\n<li>Failure to obey traffic sign<\/li>\n<li>Abuse of Guest Pass privilege<\/li>\n<li>Two cars registered in the same name parked on campus at one time<\/li>\n<li>Parking in a coned or taped-off space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Violations are placed on the windshield of the vehicle, and fines are indicated on the violation form. Fines are cumulative meaning they do not double after 30 days.<\/p>\n<h3>Appeals<\/h3>\n<p>There will be no warnings issued. Security personnel cannot void violations. Any student wishing to appeal a violation must fill out an Appeal Form, available at the ID and Parking Office, the Campus Safety Guard House, or the 4040 Campus Safety Desk, within seven days of the date of violation. Appeal decisions will be returned through the mail.<\/p>\n<h3>Booting\/Towing<\/h3>\n<p>Some violations, such as parking in a fire lane or blocking the flow of traffic, parking a nonregistered vehicle, or failure to pay fines, may warrant the immediate placement of a boot on a vehicle or towing of the violating vehicle. Marymount is not responsible for any damage sustained by a vehicle due to the placement of a boot on the wheel.<br \/>\nThe penalty for removal of a boot is $130 in addition to the parking violation fine. Failure to pay for the removal of the boot within three days may result in the vehicle being towed from the campus at the expense of the person to whom the car is registered.<\/p>\n<h3>Payment of Fines<\/h3>\n<p>Violation fines may be paid by cash, check, or credit card at the Cashier\u2019s Office.
