SCS and COVID-19
Welcome Marymount Students!
We are thrilled to welcome you back to campus this Fall. Starting a new school year is such an exciting time for students, staff and faculty alike. As a backdrop to this excitment, we are all continuing to settle in to the new normal of social distancing and mask wearing. We recognize that this is a time of uncertainty and many different emotions. We are here to support you, as the services offered at SCS are more important now than ever. Our goal is to continue providing the same level of support, but with the safety of students and staff in mind.
Teletherapy– SCS will continue to offer teletherapy in lieu of face to face counseling sessions. This make our services even more accessible to students. Students can schedule appointments either by calling the general SCS number or by emailing email@example.com. Upon receiving a request for an initial appointment, the “Consent to Telehealth” form will be sent to the student. Once the form is completed, an initial intake appointment will be scheduled.
Virtual Walk In Appointments– Virtual Walk in appointments will be offered in lieu of face to face walk in appointments for students’ non crisis needs. Virtual walk-in appointments (also called “Let’s Talk” sessions) will be offered daily, 2-3:00 pm.
Increased Support Group Offerings-SCS is offering more ways for students to connect with each other in a supportive and therapeutic way. The following groups will be offered this semester-Chicken Soup for the Social Distanced Soul, Graduate Student Support Group, Ajustment to College 101, and Expressive Arts Group.
Evening Hours-SCS will offer extended hours to meet the diverse needs of Marymount students. On a case by case basis, students will have the opportunity to schedule appointments on select evenings, 5:00pm-8:00pm.
