Bio

Before joining Marymount University, Dr. Jane Dreyfuss spent over 25 years as a classroom teacher and administrator for the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). As FCPS Cluster 8 director and Region 2 interim executive principal, Dr. Dreyfuss worked with the assistant superintendent to supervise, mentor and provide instructional leadership to principals and teachers in over 40 elementary and secondary schools. She first learned about Marymount from principals who partner with Marymount’s Professional Development School program.
Throughout her career, Dr. Dreyfuss has worked with organizations that promote excellence in teaching and learning for diverse student populations. She has served as lead writer for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Middle Childhood Generalist Standards and the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow curriculum.
Jane is a dual US/British citizen who grew up as a U.S. Army dependent and moved every two or three years. She loves exploring new places and cultures. Now that she’s semi-retired, she’s traveled to some pretty incredible places, including stopping in to say hello to our Marymount University student teachers in New Zealand!
